I can easily imagine Walter Goggins playing The Fix.
Ending is legendary
I just learned I CAN hum with my nose plugged. Am I ok?
Why most of them sound like a really scary threat?
It's over 10 minutes
the reason these facts are so unnerving is because so many of them are about biology. they could just be any neat little piece of trivia but because hank always forces us to think about the fragile inner workings of our shambling meat suits, there's just this constant terrifying undercurrent
HI AMRUTA YOU ARE FAMOUS NOW
🤣 hi!!
This series made me slightly and permanently scared of Hank Green
Thank you Amruta - very well presented.
Alternate title: Hank and Brendan flirting with each other through their characters for ten minutes
Fun fact ice is a naturally occurring solid, which makes it a mineral. To use other words, ice is a rock, which means earth can participate rocks i.e hail.
We are so lucky that one of the premier science educators of our time hopped on board with this. Like can you imagine Carl Sagan playing a quick witted sexy nerd character on like Magnum PI? For a whole season?
is he right about the compass thing?
Hank Green may be the only person in the world who can out bird fact Brennan Lee Mulligan
i am reminded of the hank tweet that was something like 'no one tell brennan how attractive i think he is'
Your content is SUPER helpful and insightful. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this out there for us!
Loved it! Greetings from Poland!
I love that you make short videos and explain everything perfectly. Thanks
Thank you
Thank you, Amruta! You've inspired me and I've submitted an application to get started. I already have experience as a Tech Writer, and I love it! No two roles are the same, but the logistics are very satisfying to me.
Very helpful, thank you!
Dear Amruta, This was an awesome and very professional video, thank you for sharing!
Hank: "Pelicans" Everyone: Oh boy here we go
Hank Green has a southern drawl here.
I like the way you communicate ma'am. Really inspiring 🎉
As a beginner, you are such a great teacher. I wish to learn more from you if you don't mind.
"ChatGPT is very good at giving wrong information confidently" 😅😅😅 well-said
the little dance of absolute joy that Hank does at 4:52 after Brennan responds with his own fact is such a huge joy to watch!
Hello..I have 3years of experience in Technical Writer. Is there any openings now ?
I love fun facts so have this: Almost everything you interact with that isn't alive was probably created from a mix of roughly eight chemicals. Propylene, ethylene oxide, and benzene are the backbones of nearly every plastic, every pharmaceutical, every preservative and flavoring in foods, every artificial scent, the coatings on your screens, everything. Add in ammonia, lye, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and sulfuric acid, and you can create the materials for the modern world. While those chemicals are easy to make practically, they take a lot of energy (IIRC making propylene requires sustained temperatures of 600 C and catalysts). And since we make millions to billions of tons of each of the things I mentioned per year, it creates about 5% of the world's CO2 emissions. Bonus fact: a single reaction, the Haber-Bosch process, consumes about 2% of all the energy used by humanity to turn atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia.
I am new here and I am an aspiring Tech Writer. I really love the clarity of your explanations. Thank you for doing this. 💚
I'm working as a developer in a startup, I got opportunity as a technical writer in google, shall I go and make connection and switch to developer later ... ?
The video is great but the comments being filled with fun facts is equally great.
Hi Amruta, As a technical writer, I enjoy learning from your videos a lot. I'm trying to find answers to a technical writing question. It's related to release notes. Let's say I publish the release notes for a specific product release version. However the release is rolled back because of other reasons - ex: lots of bugs. Do I remove the release notes? Or do I add a notice mentioning what actually happened? Interested to know what you would do in a case like this. Thanks.
Hmm this is more of a Product/Marketing decision, so I'd ask them what they want to do in this case.
Congratulations, Amruta! A fantastic achievement!
Thank you!!
❤🎉 congrats, Amruta! I've enjoyed watching your creative side unfold.
Thank you!!
9:55 😭😭
I found your channel today. Precise and informative content. Thank you, Amruta!
Brennen was looking so badly for an opportunity to stump hank. But he’s facing hank
Excellent
I love Hank!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Amruta Your videos are very helpful- The workshop is still active right?
Yep!
@@AmrutaRanade Thank you for the quick response and confirmation- I will be soon purchasing this workshop- Currently going through other videos of your channel and testing the waters- I have 6 years of experience in backoffice and project coordination and after a sabbatical I am planning to resume my career and hence doing this upskilling with content writing- I have few queries- how can I connect with you to discuss the same?- Is email communication possible?- Thanks and Regards, Omkar A.
@@omkarambulkar8000 Unfortunately, I don't have the bandwidth for 1:1 communication. Please note that this is a self-paced workshop that doesn't involve any personal guidance. Another point of clarification: the focus of this workshop is technical writing, which is not the same as content writing. Please make sure this is the right investment for you in terms of time, money, and effort. Honestly, I'd recommend checking out the free content on channel first and trying to build your portfolio before investing in the workshop. If you are looking for content writing advice instead, I highly recommend the channel Copy That!
0:53 That's such a clever response.
This was great! I've never played DnD, but I enjoy watching the DnD shows where others play.
This is rad as hell!! Absolutely love the teleportation circle ideas--I swear if any part of magic could be real... And your adventuring party looks like such a wonderful group! Hope you can all keep playing together for years to come ☺
Thank you!!
Magical 🔮🔮🏹☄🌟
This is exactly what I need as I think about a career change. Thank you so much for your advice!
3:44 okay that was actually an interesting fact, I always wondered why nitrogen asphyxiation didn’t cause the same panic as other methods of suffocation but I guess that explains it
Do not let this man cook again, not 'cause it sucked but because I dunno what Hank'll think up next.
attacking someone with raw facts of the world has to be some new level of game!
